Taking these lines as the motto of life, I, Shiv Prasad Shukla has been serving continuously the society with alacritous zeal and enthusiasm. After joining NSS, the spirit of social work flourished in my mind and on the other hand it became a major rallying point in my personality development. I got a chance to represent NSS in the programs organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India such as: Adventure Camp at Arunanchal Pradesh, Pre RD Camp at Gwalior and National Youth Festival at New Raipur. For my exemplary social work, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University bestowed on me the best volunteer award known as ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyaya NSS Award’ in the year 2014.
Between 2015 to 2017, I was an important part of many social activities such as: Plantation Programs, Environment Conservation Programs, Blood Donation Camps and Programs, Water Conservation Programs, Women Empowerment Programs, Anti-Child Begging Campaign, Swachh Bharat- Swasth Bharat Program, Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao Abhiyaan, Traffic Safety Awareness, AIDS awareness and Voter Awareness Programs. To ignite the spark in people regarding social activities, I executed many innovative programs. Through Folk Song, Poster and Slogan competitions, Speech, Debate Rally, Door to Door Campaigning; I made people aware of various social issues, on the other hand I very well performed the duty of an awaked citizen of India.
It is an undenying phenomenon that if good deeds accomplished by a person are recognised by concerning authorities, he starts working with renewed and reinvigorated passion and fervour. For my incredible contribution and relentless efforts for social cause, my contribution to NSS at DDU Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur, MMM University of Technology Gorakhpur, BRD Medical College Gorakhpur, I was conferred ‘Gold Medal’ by Yuva Chetna Samiti. Acknowledging my immense contribution to society, I was conferred on state level ‘Sanjogta Mahajan Memorial Award for Youth’ by Srijan Foundation on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Divas on January 24, 2016.
I was also felicitated by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner at Lucknow for my role as motivator to promote voting percentage in LS/VS Elections. Moreover I have participated in various camps and seminars at the State/National level and I have also delivered many motivational talks on Radio, Television, and Colleges on different occasions. One of the daring and almost impossible task undertaken by me was the covering of 300 Kilometres distance from Gorakhpur to Lucknow by Cycle for the sake of Anti-Child Begging Campaign. I received a huge warm reception by public enroute and that augmented and energised me to accomplish my journey enthusiastically.
